Genevieve Wilkinson Barrister

I am a Sydney-based barrister and mediator specialising in intellectual property, trade practices, discrimination and human rights law.

I am a barrister practising in New South Wales. I have previously practised as a solicitor in Victoria. 
 
I practised as a solicitor in premier corporate law firms in Australia and the United Kingdom between 2003 and 2008, focusing on intellectual property, large litigation and arbitration. I commenced at the Bar in 2008 and am part of Ninth Floor Selborne Chambers, a floor that specialises in equity and commercial law.  
 
I have acted in a diverse range of matters and jurisdictions. My specific areas of interest are intellectual property, trade practices, human rights and discrimination and mediation. 
 
In 2007 I obtained a European Master in Human Rights and Democratisation. My thesis looked at intellectual property law and the human right to health. I continue to publish articles in the fields of intellectual property and human rights. I am currently interested in the concept of a right to information and the implications of this for intellectual property, confidential information and the nascent right to privacy. 
 
I have been accredited as a mediator by the NSW Bar Association pursuant to national standards.
