iTEL Community Telco Limited ACN 098 028 230 (iTEL) is an unlisted public company limited by shares that was incorporated on 3 September 2001 through the purchase of all the issued shares in the Ipswich based internet service provider, Global Info-Links Pty Ltd ('GIL'). This business was first established in 1994 and remains one of the largest Queensland owned Internet Service Providers. 
 
The vision is for iTEL to provide the Ipswich community and South-East Queensland with the most cost efficient and effective telecommunications facilities and services. At the same time develop enhanced applications such as e-commerce to meet the growing needs of the Ipswich community and adjacent areas. 
iTEL Community Telco Limited is a commercially driven operation with the objective of maximising shareholder benefits through excellence in management, value-added services and the delivery of increased functionality and quality of telecommunications services.  
 
To achieve this vision, iTEL has been established as the central point for identifying and coordinating the community's telecommunications requirements. It brings together the telecommunications needs of Ipswich into a single buying group of users, facilitating a community approach in an endeavour to deliver significant operational and financial benefits to those businesses and households that participate and to the community. 
 
A single buying group offers consumers a stronger negotiating position with the major carriers, focusing on improvement in facilities and services to the Ipswich community and adjacent areas in south east Queensland. 
 
A number of local and regional personnel have joined forces to invest in iTEL. Investors range from large organizations to small businesses and individuals. The Board is one of mutuality - in other words, each Board Member has one vote, regardless of size of investment. 
 
The Board brings with it a wide range of expertise and experience, with Board Members selected, due to their business and community knowledge and experience.
